Extra Special Tracker — Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Extra Special Studio (“we”, “us”) for Extra Special Tracker (“EST”), including any updates we provide and related documentation. If you do not agree, do not install or use EST.

EST is free software. We may fund the studio through optional website advertising and community support links — not through ads inside the EST app. See our privacy policy and the site privacy policy.

2. What EST is

EST is a local Windows desktop application that helps creators track CurseForge and Modrinth download statistics, GitHub issues, and Modrinth notifications using API tokens you supply. EST is not affiliated with CurseForge, Modrinth, GitHub, or Microsoft.

3. License grant

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use EST on computers you own or control, for your personal or internal studio use, at no charge.

• You may move EST to a new PC using backup/export features, within reasonable personal use.
• Development builds running unpackaged from source may behave differently but remain subject to these Terms.

4. Restrictions

You must not:

• Redistribute, rent, lease, sublicense, or resell EST except where applicable law gives you a non-waivable right to do so.
• Reverse engineer or modify EST except where applicable law gives you a non-waivable right to do so.
• Use EST to violate third-party terms (CurseForge, Modrinth, GitHub, etc.) or applicable law.
• Remove or obscure copyright or attribution notices.
• Attempt to bypass security or abuse the localhost agent API on shared machines without appropriate access controls.

5. Your API tokens and data

You are responsible for obtaining and safeguarding your CurseForge, Modrinth, and GitHub credentials. EST stores them locally on your device. We do not host your tokens. You are responsible for the accuracy of project slugs, catalogs, and any data you export or back up.

6. Third-party services

EST calls third-party APIs at your direction. We do not guarantee those services will remain available, unchanged, or error-free. Download history for CurseForge is derived from snapshots EST takes over time — we do not provide official CurseForge historical analytics.

7. Updates and support

We may release updates at our discretion. Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis via our public Discord and the EST GitHub repository. We are not obliged to provide a specific response time unless required by consumer law.

8. Donations and website support

EST is free. Optional donations or purchases on our website (for example via a donate page) are separate from EST itself and governed by the relevant platform’s terms. They do not entitle you to a different EST license tier.

9. Disclaimer

EST is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that EST will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that analytics will match platform dashboards exactly.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Extra Special Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of EST. Because EST is provided at no charge, our total liability for any claim relating to EST is limited to GBP £10 unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

11. Termination

You may stop using EST at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or revoke a license if you materially breach these Terms (for example, key sharing or redistribution). On termination, your license ends and you must stop using EST, except for data you already exported locally.

12. Intellectual property

EST, its name, branding, and source code (where not open-sourced separately) remain the property of Extra Special Studio and its licensors. This agreement does not transfer ownership to you — only the limited license in section 3.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. The effective date at the top will change. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of EST after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms for future use.
